Hillary Ang is popularly known as the axeman for Malaysia's most prominent rock band, SEARCH - Hillary has marked himself as one of Malaysia's guitarist living legend.

His interest and liking for rock music rooted from his family: " my brother has a hobby of collecting records, mostly of rock genres and i used to 'curi-curi listen'. He then started to pick up guitar lessons from friends and got the hang of it. The rest, as they say is history.

His music style and guitar renditions were heavily influenced by the style of Eddie Van Halen and ACDC's Randy Rhoades. He released his solo album - the first among the very few in 1990 and sold almost 50,000 copies.

Professionally, Hillary has also assumed the Musical Director post for Ella during the latter's Malaysian tour in 1991 - 1992, which has made him acclaimed as the most natural MD for a rock genre.

At present, other than living his life as SEARCH's lead guitarist, Hillary also takes professional guitar sessionist and musical directing engagements both locally and abroad.
